Hello Conferece,

Y'all missed a lovely gathering last Thursday, we had good conversation and
Jim got us (well, at least me) all excited about the Encompass Poverty
Simulation at Hope on September 10th.

It was also Anne's last meeting as Dean and she was fabulous! Thank you,
Anne for leading this conference for the past 6 years!

I wanted to email you all before I send an email to the new Conference 6
because we have some business to attend to before everything shifts. We
talked at the past two meetings about dissolving the association that has
been called Santa Clara Valley Lutheran Parish.

This does not mean that our relationships or partnerships end. It only
means that we close our bank account and open ourselves to a new conference
association.

So the motions are before you:
1. That we dissolve the SCVLP.
2. That we close our bank account and distribute the remaining funds in
this manner:
60% to Henry Martyn Institute in Hyderabad, India <http://www.hmiindia.org/>
40% to Encompass Homeless Ministry

To keep this all above board, will you please confer with your
congregations and find a vote of yes or no on these two motions?
Then just reply to this email with a yes/no on the motions. When we have
everyone's vote, this business will be done.

Then, we can gather on September 17th, ready to be a part of something new
with our new conference mates!

I'll email you all the details of that gathering as soon as I possibly can
(still waiting on host confirmation) but if you have questions, please call
me over the next two weeks, as I won't be checking my email.
