Hello everyone,
Jim and Judy Bangsund have some info to share about the following camp
program:
When Jim and I met with Bob McKee last week, he suggested that we share a
camp program for youth with the other pastors. I had taken our youth on a
mission trip up to northern Idaho for a mission trip, and it turned out
really well. We joined a program called Idaho Servant Adventures, run
through Lutherhaven Ministries (Coeur d'Alene). The camp we attended was
actually beyond Coeur d'Alene along the Coeur d'Alene River Road. The camp
was very well structured; good program, and the kids got a lot out of it.
Other youth groups attend the same week, and they mix the kids up into
various Servant Teams, and then send them out Monday - Thursday (with adult
supervision) into a nearby community where they do a variety of service
projects. In the afternoons they return to camp for some great activities
(including zip line, rock wall climbing, tubing down the river). In the
evening they have a Bible study followed by devotions around the campfire.
Friday is a free day -- we went white-water rafting just over the border in
Montana on the Clark Fork River.
I recommend it; we will very likely go again. It was really a Bible camp and
mission trip all in one.
