A couple of minor corrections to the information in Anne's email, I have se=
rved as interim pastor in 4 (not 5) congregations. I have been asked by Na=
ncy Nelson or Bishop Mark in all situations. And I have guest preached for=
many of you, in 26 different congregations over the past 6 years all over =
this synod. I am grateful for all these experiences and hope that the syno=
d will allow me to continue as I wait for a call to which I can be ordained=

This email comes as a personal and a professional request. Many of you have=
known LaVinnia Pierson professionally and personally for many years. She =
completed her M.Div. at PLTS in 2006, and has been awaiting a congregationa=
l call ever since. She has had only 3 interviews since graduation, but has=
served in interim situations in 5 plus churches, and in 3 of these she was=
specifically asked by the Bishop to help out. Due to her status as restri=
cted to this synod and to this general area, opportunities for interviews h=
ave been few.

She finds herself after 6 years redoing all the approval steps she took to =
become approved for ordination 6 years ago. She passed her theological rev=
iew panel with flying colors, she has met with an approved psychologist for=
her review, and in 3 weeks -- August 23rd she will meet with this synod's =
candidacy committee for her formal interview and hopefully her reapproval.

We can help! If you find it in your heart to send a letter of endorsement =
to the people below -- all of whom are part of her finally approval, we can=
make a difference. Something simple as "please approve LaVinnia" or as d=
etailed as when she has been a part of your congregation, what she has done=
, how you have worked together, and how she is received by you and your con=
gregation will be welcomed. We can all help by praying for her now and on =
the 23rd.
