Thanks for your response.  It is interesting that if Joseph had not gone
to the bishop to confess his transgression, no one would have known, and
he would still be serving as a pastor.  If this decision is final, I guess
there is no way he could ever be reinstated as a pastor.  Where is the
forgiveness, like his wife must have given him since they are still
together.  Also, you did not address the issue of divorced pastors.  Yes,
each situation would have to be addressed individually, but there is also
something about not being able to hold a relationship together.  There was
a day in the Lutheran Church when a divorced pastor was removed from the
clergy roster.
