Have a great event. I met Sam and Cindy when I was an assistant at St. Andr=
ew's in San Mateo (almost 25 years ago). A great couple. I will not be ther=
e as I have a class to teach that night.

Haven't used this SCVLP thing yet, so hopefully I'm doing it right. Here is=
 an event involving visiting ELCA missonaries from Africa that we're having=
 at Immanuel next Wednesday, August 17. Feel free to come and invite your f=
olks if you'd like. Should be a really good time.

Come and hear the Rev. Sam and Cindy Wolff, ELCA Global Mission Personnel i=
n Nairobi, Kenya. They will be visiting and presenting at Immanuel Lutheran=
 Church, Los Altos, on Wednesday, August 17.=20

Sam serves as pastor of Nairobi International Congregation and works with t=
he Dagoretti Swahili Church. Together they serve a variety of ethnic groups=
 and the refugee population in Nairobi. They and their congregation oversee=
 a significant AIDS outreach program, and work to provide services and supp=
ort for Nairobi=E2=80=99s poor.They are also involved with interfaith dialo=
g with the Muslim community.

The evening will begin with a dinner (potluck) at 6:00 PM, followed by stor=
ies and images from their life and work in Kenya. The cost is free. All are=
 welcome!
