North, The Second Isaiah, p. 194-5 refers to the word 'engrave' used also in Ezekiel 4.1 and Isaiah 30.8 and says "Yahweh's 'stigmata' are sketches of the city he loves and of which he is reminded whenever he looks at his hands."
