Dear Friends & Colleagues,



On behalf of the Episcopal Lutheran Campus Ministry and the members of the
Ascension Day Planning Committee, we would like to invite you to the
Ascension Day Shared Eucharist on Thursday, May 29th at 7:00pm at Stanford
Memorial Church.



Our preacher this year is the Rev. Susan Briehl, poet, musician, and
pastor. (Pastor Briehl will also be leading a hymn-sing on Wednesday night,
the 28th, and a writing workshop on Thursday morning, the 29th. Contact me
for more information.) The presider will be the Rt. Rev. Mary Gray-Reeves
of the Episcopal Diocese of El Camino Real.



This year will be the 32nd year Lutherans and Episcopalians have come
together for this celebration, and we ask your support in sharing news of
this service with your congregation. You can download posters as well as
materials for your bulletins and newsletters at www.gracepa.org/ascension.



As always, all who love to sing are invited to join the combined choir! The
anthems this year are:

Byrd=E2=80=99s "Alleluia Ascendit"

Stanford=E2=80=99s =E2=80=9CCoelos Ascendit Hodie"

Calvin Hampton =E2=80=9CA Repeating Alleluia=E2=80=9D in procession



It has been our tradition to ask each congregation to contribute $100 in
support of this service and the ongoing work of the ELCM. You can send
checks to Ascension Day Service, c/o Trinity Church, 330 Ravenswood Avenue,
Menlo Park, CA 94025.


Clergy are invited to vest, the color is white, and to gather in the Round
Room of Memorial Church at 6:30. There we will receive brief instructions
and take the annual photo! The choir will gather in the choir loft at 6:00
for rehearsal.



We look forward to joining with you in worship!
