I write to share the news that Joseph Leon, former pastor of Pueblo de Dios=
 in San Jose, has been removed from the roster of ordained clergy of the EL=
CA.=C2=A0 I met with Joseph and Maricela personally to give him this news.=
=C2=A0 The effect of this transition off the roster is that Joseph is no lo=
nger able to conduct worship, preside at Holy Communion, or preach as a pas=
tor in congregations of the ELCA.=C2=A0 I share this with you in the event =
that any of you or your congregations might wish to contact him to provide =
leadership during vacations, continuing education opportunities, or other o=
ccasions when a pastor might be absent on a Sunday or for another service.=

Pueblo de Dios Lutheran continues to be served by Pr. Eduardo Trejo on a te=
rm call.=C2=A0 He and the leadership of PDD are moving forward in their hop=
es to reach out to the Latino community of San Jose.=C2=A0 Please offer Edu=
ardo and the congregation the collegial support I know has been much a part=
 of your ministry as a conference.=C2=A0=20
