                     from the Conference Gathering
               of the Santa Clara Valley Lutheran Parish
                       held October 17, 2015 at
                  Grace Lutheran Church in Palo Alto

The breakout session for the Santa Clara Valley Lutheran Parish was
held in the sanctuary of Grace Lutheran Church, 3149 Waverly in
Palo Alto, CA on October 17th, 2015.

Conference Dean Anne Carlson led the meeting; secretary Randy Presuhn
assembled these notes.

Major topics discussed at the meeting included:
  - issues surrounding conference and district re-alignment, included
    the wide variation of congregation sizes within our conference
  - an update on Pueblo de Dios and invitation to further conversation
    on ministry in the hispanic community
  - an update on the status of the property currently used by Good
    Shepherd Comunity
  - an update on the Encompass homeless ministry
  - surfacing names for possible nomination to stand for election for
    our districts "lay male" slot on the synod council.  Two names
    were surfaced at the meeting:  Rey Lambatin and Randy Presuhn,
    both members of Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in San Jose.
